VästKraft’s vision isto increase the competence of individuals within the technology sector,and thereby strengthen the Gothenburg Region’s sustainable growth.
Project VästKraft was created to support companies and individuals, active within the technology sector, with a focus on the automotive industry and its suppliers. Together with companies and other partners on the job market, VästKraft sets up short courses and practical competence development. The project takes place within the Gothenburg Region’s 13 municipalities, in the western part of Sweden.

Target groupsAll the participants in VästKraft work within the automotive industry or its suppliers, in the Gothenburg Region. 3 000 employees at companies in the technology sector The participants work at companies in need of competence development within the technology area. The company sets up a plan where they identify the employees’ needs, and in dialogue with VästKraft’s educational planner a schedule for the courses. 500 former employees in the technology sector The participants are still employed when they enter the project, but have been given notice. They have to start the competence development before their last day at work, but can continue when they are unemployed.

VästKraft has signed agreements with 19 educational suppliers, that are used during the whole project.
